There are many days which are celebrated throughout the year, but that one day which celebrates what holds everything together in a family is the "Mother's Day". Mothers are the backbone of our society. They hold a family together. Mother's Day is a very special day observed mainly in appreciation of all the mothers. This is a day to celebrate and honour motherhood. It is celebrated on various days across the world, yet the most common date of celebrating the Mother's Day is the Second Sunday of May. This year's Mother's Day falls on 12th of May 2013!

Mothers enrich our lives with their presence. Mothers are an embodiment of love, care, sacrifice and service. They are selfless and dedicated. Mother's Day is a day to stop and think about this "Woman" who has given birth to you and raised you. The pains of pregnancy and giving birth to a child is borne only by a mother. It takes real commitment and hardwork to be a mother. All the little things she has done, all the ways she has loved and supported you cannot be measured or paid in cash. Motherhood is regarded as the noblest calling of a woman. There is a saying, "God could not be everywhere at once, so he gave a child a mother". This is so true! Motherhood is a God given task and priviledge.
